Salah Extends Statement to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that the Egyptian forward apologised to the group of players after the uproar from his televised remarks.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a European match following making accusations and suggesting his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”
Arne Slot has refused to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.
Moving Forward
Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.
Jones also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “I get that there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the games following the situation. Jones believes the outburst were not designed to cause disruption.
“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, performing and securing victories.”
